The core loop

Reward before the hard work

Most money tools make you build a spreadsheet before they give you anything back. Money Tamed flips it — you get a clear picture first, then a small, satisfying step. The heavy lifting is automated; the choices stay yours.

Bring your numbers in

Pop in a few quick figures for your net worth — bank, property, super, less the card and mortgage (ballparks are fine). Then import a bank statement and Money Tamed sorts your spending automatically, so you're not categorising line by line.

See where you're at

One warm line tells you your starting position — what's covered, what's spare, and where you sit on the journey. No jargon, no judgment.

Spot the quiet leaks

It surfaces the everyday “taxes” — convenience, loyalty, forgotten subscriptions — and simply asks: is this still a choice you'd make today?

Pick your next small win

Choose one mission and watch your safety net grow and your tree ladder climb. One small win at a time, at your pace.

The self-imposed “taxes”

The money that leaks while you're not looking

None of these are you being “bad with money”. They're just choices someone made once and forgot — defaults that quietly outlived their decision. Money Tamed names them gently, and leaves the call to you.

🛍️ Convenience tax

Delivery, takeaway, the easy option on autopilot. Handy — until it's quietly a few hundred a month.

🤝 Loyalty tax

The insurer or provider you never got around to switching. Providers tend to reward switchers, not loyalty.

📺 Subscription tax

The streaming stack and the gym you meant to cancel. Worth a scan for any you've stopped using.

🏦 Fee tax

Account fees, annual card fees, the odd late fee. Most are avoidable with a quick call or a switch.

✨ Luxury & lifestyle creep

The nice-to-haves that crept up as income did. Not wrong — just worth doing on purpose.

🧭 …and your spare

Money with no job yet. The kindest “tax” to fix — give it a mission before it drifts away.

Five lives, five reports

Wherever you are on the journey, the report meets you there. Below are five sample Insights Reports — one per life stage — built from fictional test data so you can see exactly what you'd get. Tap a stage.

Life stage 1 · Starting out

“Every bill's covered, and there's $853 a month spare with no job yet.”

Early on, the win isn't a big balance — it's proof you're ahead. Here, three months of income have covered everything, with a small surplus waiting for a mission.

“A strong income — and $2,467 a month slipping through everyday defaults.”

Busy family years. There's $3,143 spare each month, but only a sliver is reaching Upside, and convenience is the quiet leader. The report shows it without a lecture.

“Fixed costs are running the show — and takeaway is quietly $208 a month.”

Fixed essentials sit high at 62% of income, so there's less room to move. The report gently flags where Upside could grow, and names the convenience habit without judgment.

Life stage 4 · Pre-retirement

“Saving strongly at 31% — but loyalty is costing $512 a month.”

A healthy position with real momentum. The biggest opportunity isn't spending less on life — it's the set-and-forget bills that reward switchers, not loyalty.

“Spending more than income some months — and that can be exactly the plan working.”

In retirement, drawing on savings isn't failure — it's what the savings were for. The report reads direction, not just position (things moved $5,204/mo in the right direction), and still gently flags a $780 annual card fee worth a call.

Dave Stanton, The Money Dad
About Dave

I built this because I was you

I'm Dave — a dad who went from mortgage stress to money calm, not by earning a fortune overnight, but by finally seeing where I stood and taking one small step at a time. I'm not here to lecture you or sell you a get-rich story.

Money Tamed is the tool I wished I'd had: something that meets you gently, keeps your data private, and celebrates the small wins instead of shaming the gaps. It's built for everyday Australian couples in their 30s and 40s who feel behind — including the ones who look fine on paper but still feel stuck.

The case against us

Fair questions, honest answers

Is this financial advice?

No. Money Tamed is educational only. It helps you see your own numbers and think about them — it never tells you what you “should” do, and it doesn't recommend any product, provider or investment. For advice about your personal situation, speak to a licensed financial adviser.

Is my data really private?

Yes. Your financial information is encrypted and stays on your device in the SecureVault. Nothing is uploaded or shared by default. If you ever choose to share a report — say, with a partner or coach — you create and control that export yourself.

What does it cost?

The free tier is free forever. Every new account includes 30 days of Pro — no card required — so you can try the full monthly Insights Report and automatic statement import before you decide anything. After that, the free tools stay free.

$19.95

$199.50

Save $39.90 — two months free

Whichever you pick, your price is locked in — it never rises while your subscription stays active. If you cancel and rejoin later, you start at whatever the price is at that time. All prices in AUD.

Is the Insights Report free?

The Insights Report is a Pro feature — and every new member gets 30 days of Pro free to try it, no card required. After that it's part of Pro, at $19.95 a month or $199.50 a year. The free tier keeps the core tools, so you can always see where you stand.

Is it going to make me feel judged?

That's exactly what we've built against. The whole tone is suggestive, not prescriptive — “worth a look”, never “you're wasting”. It celebrates small wins and asks gentle questions instead of handing down verdicts.

Do I have to enter everything to get value?

No. Start with your net worth — a handful of quick figures gives you a first read of where you stand straight away. Import a statement when you're ready and Money Tamed sorts your spending for you, so you're not categorising line by line.

One honest warning about your passcode

Because your vault is private and on your device, your passcode isn't recoverable — there's no “forgot password”. That's the trade-off for real privacy. Please keep it somewhere safe.
